Hello everyone! Welcome back, I hope you are all enjoying your rainy day! (It's raining in my part of the world anyway) so, anyway there is this fun little thing going around Instagram and, those tagged have to list there 5 bookish habits. I thought this was neat and wanted to share it on my blog as well as on my Instagram.
Okay so, my 5 bookish habits.
1. I HAVE to set a reading goal every year on Goodreads. This helps me to keep track of what I've read, what I want to read, etc. and, it helps me to get through my tower of a TBR pile and stay on track with getting through it. It also gives me the ability to mingle with other readers and I think that's really cool.
2. I absolutely refuse to write/highlight in my books. I think this is the most absurd thing in my opinion, and I cannot fathom ever marking up any of my beloved novels/series.
3. I do not wait until I have finished one series to pick up another. Sometimes I will, but I am a "mood reader" and I will read whatever sparks my mood at that given time. At this current time I am in the mood for Harry Potter, Throne of Glass, and Red Queen. So I am currently going back and forth between those 3 series.
4. I tend to stay away from contemporary novels even though I am trying to read more of those but, for me fantasy is where my attention is most drawn. I will read contemporary novels that talk about mental illness/sexual assault but not the romance or traveling to Paris, etc. I just can't do it. They lack the thrill, magic, and adventure that fantasy books hold.
5. Taking notes in a notebook or on scrap paper, to conduct my reviews and book discussions is an absolute must. I do this to gather/organize my thoughts and work out how I want to describe a book, what questions I want to ask in the discussion, and any other key points that I want to bring up.
Okay everyone, those are my 5 bookish habits. I would love to hear some of yours!
