The Slytherin Common Room Book Discussion
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
Good morning everyone (or evening) it's morning for me as I have just woken up at 4:00pm after working a night shift. So anyway, I would like to start a discussion on "Strange the Dreamer" written by Laini Taylor. I want to confess that I sadly did NOT get into this book. I read part 1 and after that I had to put it down as I found the book to be very dull compared to her Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy. I like the idea of this story, but when I actually opened the book to read it, nothing was there. I feel like Laini Taylor overdid the explanations/descriptions in this book and for me it was just too much. I also had a very hard time picturing the world that she wanted us to envision and nothing added up to me. Everything seemed to be all over the place and didn't flow.
Okay so there's my thoughts on the book, and since I did not finish the book I don't have a lot to say about it. But, I would absolutely love to hear what everyone else thought of it. Did you find it exciting, dull, etc? How did you like the writing, the world building, the characters? Tell me how you found the book over all.
Also guys, be sure to stay up to date with my Bookstagram @Books_Tea_and_Dogs as I am always posting new updates! Also, you just may find another buddy read coming up!
Until next time guys
